An Introduction to Mundane Astrology

Part 1

Perhaps it’s a good idea to first say what Mundane Astrology is. According too Webster’s Dictionary mundane relates to the world (mundo meaning worldly). Mundane Astrology interprets charts in terms of global trends, the destinies of nations and large groups of people based on an analysis of  the cardinal ingresses (equinoxes, solstices,) eclipses, lunations, outer planetary conjunctions, national charts and the charts of leaders.

While it is important to know that the energies which we have learned to associate with the Planets, Signs and Houses in Natal astrology are intrinsically the same, our work in mundane astrology differs slightly in that we must consider that we are dealing with large groups of people rather than individuals, so there is some adjustment to be made. Nonetheless you will undoubtedly be able to immediately see the connections and we will cover these descriptions in Part 2.

The Charts and What To Do With Them...

The charts which we use the most in mundane astrology are as follows (in no particular order):

1. The Horoscope of a Country, Organization or Group, and its progressed and directed charts.

2. The birth chart of the leader of the country, organization or group and its progressed and directed charts.

3. The Cardinal Ingresses, (Solstice, Equinox charts)

4. Solar and Lunar Eclipses.

5. Lunations, in particular the New and Full Moon charts.

6. Cycle charts - Great Conjunctions and Declinations

7. Astrocartographic maps

8. Event charts
